Music To Accompany The Lost Girls

The song that I associate with the "The Lost Girls" is called "Ashes Are Burning" by a rock band called Renaissance. In "The Lost Girls" everyone soon realises that the past is far from dead, and that old technology still has the power to burn. The line "Your sins you won't remember" also brings to mind the period of compression that Soo-Kai approaches and that Kai-Tai has already entered.

The song was published a number of times, once on an album of the same name, and also most notably in 1976 on the album "Renaissance Live At Carnegie Hall". You can pick up CD versions of both these albums. The "Live" album from HTD Records (HTD CD 40A).

If you decide to buy either of these CD's try this cached Amazon.com search results page as a reference point (no profit for me though - damn!).

If you want further information on Renaissance, try their homepage at Northern Lights, or try the usual search engines.

For your delectation the lyrics of "Ashes Are Burning" are shown below.

Travel the days of freedom
Roads leading everywhere
Come with me now and show how you care

Follow the dying embers
Cross on the paths that they lay
Breath of the past the earths yesterday

Chorus:

Clear your mind maybe you will find
That the past is still turning
Circles sway echo yesterday
Ashes burning ashes burning

Colours are fading starlight
Silver the way to find
Walking the shadows, there in your mind

Changing the order slowly
Leaving the mist of time
Fingers are holding fragments of mine

Chorus

Imagine the burning embers
They glow below and above
Your sins you won't remember
And all you'll find there is love
Ashes are burning brightly
The smoke can be seen from afar
So now you're seeing how far
Ashes are burning the way
Ashes are burning the way
