The first song I associate with "The Friendly Ambassador" is "Truly Madly Deeply" by Savage Garden. It will forever be a duet between Scyleia and Tai-Gil in a brief fantasy moment after the end of the story. And because of this I think it is probably my favourite. The second song I associate with the "The Friendly Ambassador" is called "Love Is A Battlefield" by Pat Benatar. So much of the lyrics seem to touch a nerve with the whole Androktone/Destroyer philosophy that I wonder if it should be the theme song for the whole sequence of stories that begins with "The Friendly Ambassador". |

"Truly Madly Deeply" can be found on the double CD album "Savage Garden Remix Album - The Future
of Earthly Deities". It's track 3 on disc 1. You can find it on this cached HMV page.
"Love Is A Battlefield" can be found on the CD album "Pat Benatar - 36 All Time Greatest Hits".
It's track 31. Also available is the album "All Fired Up - The Very Best Of Pat Benatar" which features this song as
track 15 on the CD.
If you want further information on Pat Benatar, try her homepage
at www.benatar.com, or try the usual search engines.
I actually bought both tracks on the Internet legally from the HMV download pages, so it's a good
place to start if you are in the UK. And I am sure there are far more sites for buying music on the web in the US.
For your delectation the lyrics of "Truly Madly Deeply" and "Love Is A Battlefield" are shown below. If
you ask me to decide between the two, I think I'll let you guess.

Truly Madly Deeply I'll be your dream
I want to stand with you on a mountain
And when the stars are shining
I want to stand with you on a mountain
Oh can you see it baby?
I'll be your dream I'll be your wish
I want to stand with you on a mountain
I want to stand with you on a mountain
