February 2005 Review

Writing Progress

I haven't done much writing this month. I have spent more time playing with 3D images, not just for fun, but also because I am hoping to have something for the front cover of “The Friendly Ambassador.” I have a wealth of figures (all female of course, with most of my characters being female), and some hardware, but I have yet to put anything together. I am hoping that the results will be good, but as I am just learning I can't be sure. In addition the timescales are short, and it could be that my publisher has a better cover in mind.

I suppose I am worried that the book won't look so attractive on the shelf or on Amazon, and I am hoping to produce something eyecatching. I think I mentioned this last month. It isn't easy though, even with all the software packages I now have. You have to have an eye and patience for this kind of work, and it is a different muse than that for writing.

I have received the proofs of the first part of “The Friendly Ambassador.” I spent some time over the last couple of weeks going over them for any mistakes or typos. There wasn't really much to correct, only a handful of changes in all. Not bad really. I have sent it all back and now wait to hear from my publisher again. Next comes the cover, then out to print. So, if you are interested, this is the information for the book “The Friendly Ambassador - The Beginning Of The End:”

As we head slowly towards spring, I will try to get back to some writing. I know that “The Heroic Englishman” has been waiting a long time to be finished, so I should pull my finger out and get on with it. I also have to start thinking about “The Twelve Ships,” which will be another marathon of writing.

I still can't get back into it, though. I must be getting old.
