April 2011 Review
I am in the middle of deciding whether or not to go for the Google Editions ebook programme. Although I am already a partner in the Google Books Programme, allowing people to search for and inside my books on Google and find somewhere to buy it, the ebook programme has only been available in the US so far. Now they are getting ready to introduce it to UK authors and so I am wondering about going with this as another sales avenue. Basically, people can buy access to either a PDF or ePub version of the book by buying it directly from Google. It seems simple enough, and although I don't actually have an ePub version of my Kindle or Mobi ebooks at the moment, I don't know if that will be a problem or not. I will let you know how I get on.
As a follow on to the above, I never included “A Fine Woman” or “Mind Games” in the Google Books Programme as they were not actual books, only ebooks at the time. Well, I have now uploaded PDF files of both of them and hope these will soon become live, allowing me to provide search options for these two stories along with the rest. That will leave only the two PublishAmerica books unaccounted for. But as these two books have less than a year to go on their contracts, they may yet follow on.
With regards to actual writing, “The Sullenfeld Oracle” is just over thirty-four thousand words and I think I know where things are now going...sort of. Anyway, its moving slowly along in the background while I am distracted by other things, so with luck it should start moving a little faster again soon.
Oh, and Happy Easter for those who celebrate.
See you next month!
